Michigan Native Seed
Seed is one of the most cost-effective methods for establishing a native plant community. All seed from The Native Plant Nursery is of Michigan origin and can be custom mixed based on the site specific information you provide.
Seed is sold by weight and cost varies species to species. An additional handling charge of $1.00 per species, plus shipping costs (where applicable) are applied. Shipment is limited to Michigan and surrounding states.
Custom Seed Mixes
Our seed mixes are modeled after the naturally ocurring plant associations found in Michigan natural areas. Mixes typically contain a complement of native wildflowers and grasses that will bloom at different times throughout the growing season.
Estimates below are based on the size of the area at a coverage of 60 to 100 seeds per square foot.*Because most of our seed is wild-collected it is available in limited quantities.Approximate Seed Costs:

To order seed, call or email, with information about your site; size of the area, light and moisture availability , soil type (sand or clay); and we can provide you with a proposed mix and cost. Seed may be picked up at the Farmer's Market or can be mailed.
